Brad DeMent, Partner
Brad DeMent leads the financial shared services practice at ScottMadden. With more than 15 years of business and technology consulting experience, Mr. DeMent brings extensive experience designing, improving, and merging human resource and financial shared services operations. Although his focus is on financial shared services strategy and implementation, Mr. DeMent also has experience in outsourcing and off-shoring human resource and financial functions. His areas of industry expertise include energy utilities, pharmaceuticals, media/entertainment, consumer products, and defense. Prior to joining ScottMadden, Mr. DeMent worked for Booz Allen & Hamilton, where he managed several system-related projects for local, state, and federal governments. Mr. DeMent earned a B.S. in industrial and systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a minor in industrial/organizational psychology. He has an M.B.A. with a focus on finance from George Washington and Marymount University, summa cum laude.
Recent Assignments
- Designed and planned a new financial shared services center for one of the largest bedding manufacturers in the country. Determined the scope of services for incorporation and designed a new customer care organization
- Identified internal and customer-facing improvements for a financial shared services center in the news/entertainment industry. Implemented a new organization, service agreements, performance management plans, and a central call center within six months
- Consolidated two service centers following the merger of two of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Selected vendors and integrated systems, processes, and organizations
- Planned and project managed the consolidation of two financial shared services centers after two pulp/paper companies merged. Designed the new organization and its compensation structures, and consolidated processes
- Transitioned Puerto Rico human resource programs and services to a U.S. shared services operation for a pharmaceutical company
- Developed a three-year strategic business plan for the nuclear division of an electric utility
