William L. Krasson, Managing Associate
Bill Krasson joined ScottMadden in 2004 with more than 20 years of business and consulting experience that includes both staff and consulting roles in energy, media/entertainment, and manufacturing. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Krasson was a director with Vigilance, Inc.—a developer of supply chain and business process management software—where he oversaw business development and strategic marketing for the firm’s third-party logistics, energy, and biotechnology markets. Mr. Krasson also was a consultant with A.T. Kearney in Chicago, where he supported the firm’s operations and strategic sourcing practices. He received a B.S. in engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, an M.S. in engineering from Purdue University, and an M.B.A. from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
Recent Assignments
- Led a client, consultant, and integrator team through a multi-year implementation of PeopleSoft HR and payroll and Workbrain time and attendance systems. Developed and oversaw methodologies to define and document the client's business requirements, the systems' functional and technical specifications, and testing requirements
- Supported a payroll and HR shared services organization with implementing a new payroll liability accounting function. The new organization supported the accounting activities of 31 business units and approximately 150,000 SAP transactions per year
- Analyzed, documented, and improved the payroll liability and fringe accounting processes of a multi-divisional entertainment and media company. Oversaw a company-wide reconciliation of 60 accounts in each of 41 business units and analyzed approximately 60,000 transactions
- Oversaw benchmarking and analytical development supporting strategic and business planning for a large stand-alone nuclear electric generating facility
- Developed and managed the implementation of process improvements for the payroll and payroll tax service functions of a shared services organization
- Developed improved business and communication processes for the marketing organization of a $1.3 billion ISP. Analyzed and documented current-state processes and developed recommendations, detailed designs, and implementation and communication plans for future-state program management processes
- Developed a global supplier strategy for a $12 billion engineering, construction, and procurement company. Achieved a 35% reduction on a $210 million annual spend in engineered equipment through strategic sourcing, optimization of the global supplier base, and improvements in procurement processes
- Led a strategic sourcing and process improvement initiative targeting a $9 billion pharmaceutical company's $28 million spend in primary market research and supporting services. Achieved a 25% savings through sourcing and negotiating new agency agreements and process improvements
