Case Study: Engineering Effectiveness Assessment

ScottMadden worked with a major nuclear generation company to address effectiveness in its engineering organization.

• Allocation of engineering time was not consistent with priorities and placed too much focus on reactive tasks
• Organizational design did not support implementation of long-term programmatic governance and oversight
• There was an ineffective method to assign, track, and control work

• Developed action plans to implement the following recommendations:
• Establish an effective engineering organizational design with efficient work management processes
• Realign specific engineering functions within corporate and site organizations
