Equipment Reliability (ER) / Nuclear Asset Management (NAM): "Long Range Planning"
8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Sapelo), Tuesday, August 9, 2005
The NAM-ER joint session will expand upon the previous NAM and ER individual sessions to highlight examples of how NAM and ER
capabilities integrate to generate an effective solution to key industry issues. Previously, we have addressed capital and O&M budgeting issues and this session's focus will turn to topics such as long range planning and continuous feedback between NAM and ER processes.
The session will include evaluation of an equipment aging issue with multiple solution paths as well as the related and sometimes underestimated implications to selecting the best alternative, including the potential need to change industry event data collection processes (EPIX) or the need to develop new testing technologies. As in prior sessions, utility presenters will discuss their asset management processes and analysis techniques with particular emphasis on what is working and what are the best practices, building on previous years' sessions and insights already captured in the NAM Process Model, AP-940.
