Planning for new transmission investments is quite different for an Independent Transmission Company (ITC) as compared to a vertically integrated utility. This presentation will discuss the ITC planning process and contrast it to traditional planning across the following areas:
- Identifying and defining investment requirements
- Developing business cases
- Prioritizing, selecting and budgeting projects
- Project execution and management
- Evaluating achieved return on the investments
- The presentation will draw from actual ITC experiences and lessons learned over the past few years working in these areas
