As we end 2007 and enter 2008, the energy industry is still contemplating how it will remedy a looming imbalance between energy demand and available supply. Some in the industry are taking action. But progress is being slowed by uncertainty about regulatory regimes for greenhouse gases, renewable portfolios, and renewables interconnection, as well as continued evolution of demand-side incentives and rate schemes for conservation, energy efficiency and related technologies.
